CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly respected provider of Corporate Services including Tax, VAT & Accounting to both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Tax Associate to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will handle a variety of tax-related tasks on behalf of clients, including the review of Financial Statements from a direct tax perspective, preparing and filing personal and corporate income tax returns and assisting with the provision of advisory and consultancy services to clients on direct tax issues. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Accounting, Law, Finance, Economics or a related field and possess approximately 2+ years of relevant professional experience. Candidates pursuing the ACA/ACA qualification or those already qualified are encouraged to apply.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Review of Financial Statements from a direct tax perspective.
  • Preparation and filing of personal and corporate income tax returns.
  • Assistance in the provision of advisory and consultancy services to clients on direct tax issues.
  • Preparation of tax memorandums for companies and individuals.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and gathering all necessary information and documentation for further processing.
  • Work with other departments within the firm to address tax-related matters.
  • Provide support in the execution of various business development initiatives (e.g. preparation of newsletters, proposals, presentations).
  • Stays up to date with all developments in the field of taxation.
  • Any other Direct Tax related tasks.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University degree in Accounting, Law, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • ACCA or ACA qualified or partly qualified will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a tax related role is a must.
  • Knowledge of the Cyprus Tax Laws and Circulars will be considered as advantage.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Very good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and also individually.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Greek and English language.
