CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established engineering company that provides design and manufacturing solutions to the dairy industry, we are seeking to recruit a Warehouse Assistant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you will help to ensure smooth and timely production flow, manage inventory, and maintain organized, safe work areas. As part of your role, you will handle material deliveries, issue tools and safety equipment, monitor stock levels, and coordinate the shipping and receiving of materials and finished products. Our client is seeking applicants who possess 3+ years of relevant professional experience, with an excellent understanding of warehouse procedures. You will need to hold a current, valid driver’s licence, and should be able to operate forklift. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the successful and timely flow of production work.
  • Deliver and pick up materials as needed, operate vehicles when necessary.
  • Ensure proper working condition of work areas, grounds, trucks, tools, fixtures, and equipment; inform Warehouse Manager to arrange repairs/replacements as needed.
  • Responsible for working with the Warehouse Manager to ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving of all subcontract work materials and finished products.
  • Establish and maintain inventory control systems for all raw and finished materials; always keep inventory current; notify the Warehouse Manager of any inventory shortages.
  • Work with production co-workers on an individual and group basis to maintain order of warehouses.
  • Recommend tools, fixtures, equipment, or layout changes to improve workflow, productivity, quality of work performance.
  • Monitor, issue tools and consumables to all production employees.
  • Monitor and issue clothing to all employees.
  • Monitor and issue of all safety equipment required by employees.
  • Arrange for regular removal and recycling of appropriate production boxes, plastics, paper, etc...
  • Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by Warehouse Manager.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Approximately 3+ years warehouse experience.
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
  • Valid drivers' licence.
  • Ability to operate forklift effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
