CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established provider of Audit, Accounting & Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Tax Specialist to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory work across the group’s operations, with a strong emphasis on corporate tax, and compliance reporting. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting & Finance, Economics or another related field, who possess approximately 4+ years of experience in Tax compliance and advisory. Full members of a relevant accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CPA) are encouraged to apply, as well as those working towards a professional qualification. You will need to have solid knowledge of Cyprus Tax legislation and Regulations and be familiar working with ERP systems, knowledge of Caseware will be considered an advantage. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates, which includes Hybrid working options.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist Directors with Tax and advisory work.
  • Research and analysis of Cyprus tax legislation, circulars, and court rulings.
  • Summarizing findings and preparing internal briefings or reports.
  • TAX and VAT planning.
  • Prepare and submit TAX and VAT registrations, deregistrations, and updates to the Tax Department.
  • Obtain tax clearance.
  • Corporate tax computations, income tax returns, and supporting schedules.
  • Summary Information Tables.
  • Liaise with internal teams to collect necessary information, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with Tax Authorities to resolve issues and ensure accurate submissions.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of financial reports and annual financial statements for Tax and VAT compliance.
  • Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany reporting.
  • Arranging payments for Tax and VAT.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and in a deadline-driven environment.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University Degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Any professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA).
  • 4+ years of experience in Tax compliance and advisory.
  • Solid knowledge of Cyprus Tax legislation and Regulations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and knowledge of Caseware will be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
  • Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex financial and legal information.
  • Strong time management skills; able to meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and methodical approach to work.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
