Tax Specialist (DAC6)
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a growing provider of Trust and Corporate Services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Tax Specialist (DAC6) to join their team based in Nicosia. As a Tax Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for assisting clients with tax advisory services and rulings, as well as reviewing financial statements and tax computations, assessing potential tax risks and exposures for a portfolio of international clients. An academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is desirable, and full members of a recognised accounting body are encouraged to apply. The ADIT qualification is desirable, and proven experience and knowledge of the DAC6 EU Directive is essential. Fluency in both Greek and English is a must, and you will need to possess approximately 5+ years of previous experience in a relevant tax advisory role, gained working for a Professional Services firm. A highly competitive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drafting
of Tax Rulings of International clients, in challenging areas of Cyprus
tax laws.
- Preparation
of Tax advisory memos on the application of the Cyprus tax laws on
cross-border transactions, Cyprus anti-avoidance tax rules (i.e. CFC
rules, Exit taxation) and IP regimes.
- Review
of financial statements and agreements for the purposes of mandatory
exchange of information on reportable cross-border arrangements directive
(DAC6 Directive).
- Review
of financial statements and tax computations of international clients and
assessment of potential tax risks and exposures.
- Assistance
with examinations by the Cyprus Tax Department and preparation of letters
to defend the tax position of international clients.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree, in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business or another relevant
field is highly desirable.
- Membership
of a Professional Accounting Body (ACA/ACCA/CPA) will be considered an
advantage.
- Holders
of the ADIT qualification are encouraged to apply.
- Approximately
5+ years of tax advisory experience in a professional services firm is a
must.
- Knowledge
of the DAC6 EU directive is essential.
- Excellent
command of the Greek and English languages, both verbal and written.
- Excellent
computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability and willingness to learn and keep up-to-date on relevant tax matters, directives and rulings.
