CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established provider of Audit & Accounting services to a large portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Tax Associate to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The ideal candidate will perform tax review of draft financial statements, review of corporate tax returns and prepare individual tax returns for clients as well as assist the Tax Manager in the provision of advisory and consultation services to clients on direct tax issues. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics or another relevant field and full members of a relevant accounting body (ACA, ACCA, ADIT) are encouraged to apply, as well as those working towards a professional qualification. You will need to possess at least 2+ years of related experience in an audit firm, tax practice or related role and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and individually. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Perform tax review of draft financial statements, review of corporate tax returns and prepare individual tax returns for clients.
  • Assist the Tax Manager in the provision of advisory and consultation services to clients on direct tax issues.
  • Prepare tax memorandums for companies and individuals as assigned by the Tax Manager.
  • Liaise with the Cyprus Tax Department on behalf of clients to resolve clients’ issues.
  • Secure tax residency and other necessary certificates such as tax clearances, and such as tax residency certificates.
  • Research tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with current and future developments in local and international tax legislation/practice.
  • Prepare and/or assist with letters/reports/advanced tax rulings in relation to taxation matters that will need to be submitted to the clients and/or to the Cyprus Tax Department.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation reports to support clients’ transfer pricing obligations.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the Tax manager from time to time.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Holder of a university degree (BSc/BA) with a background in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, or other related fields.
  • Any qualification (ACCA / ACA / ADIT) will be considered as an advantage.
  • At least 2+ years of related experience in an audit firm, tax practice, or related role.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and individually.
  • Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Greek and English language.
  • IT literate and adaptable.
  • High integrity and a positive, can-do attitude.
