CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established provider of Audit, Accounting & Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit a Tax Associate to join their growing team based in Nicosia. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics or another relevant field, as well as a full member of a recognised accounting body (ACCA, ACA, CPA), or working towards completing the professional qualification. You will need to possess a minimum of 1+ year of experience in a Tax related position, with sound knowledge of Cyprus tax legislation. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Reporting to the Manager and Director of the Taxation Department.
  • Liaising with clients for any tax compliance matters, including tax computations, tax assessments, personal and corporate income tax returns.
  • Review of tax compliance work and be responsible for the team’s tax compliance deliverables in preparation and submission of tax returns, issuance of certificates for tax clearance, tax residency, non-dom, double tax treaties etc…
  • Providing tax consulting and advice to clients which may include tax rulings.
  • Participation in tax inspections performed by the Tax authorities to clients.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Mathematics or any other relevant field from a well-respected University.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified, or working towards the professional qualification.
  • Holders of any relevant International Tax qualifications/certifications are encouraged to apply.
  • At least 1+ year of experience in a Tax related position is essential.
  • Good knowledge of Cyprus tax legislation.
  • Able to study and understand the laws related to the direct taxation of Cyprus as well as other jurisdictions.
  • Excellent use, both oral and written of the Greek & English languages. 
  • Ability to take initiative and identify solutions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
  • IT literacy with sound knowledge of MS Office.
