As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will primarily be responsible for delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services, supporting project management and providing technical expertise across direct tax matters. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related field, who possess approximately 3+ years of professional tax experience, ideally gained working within a professional services environment, or corporate tax department. Holders of professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA/ICAEW, CPA, ADIT (full or partial) are encouraged to apply, and you will need to have experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, computations, and advisory deliverables. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, tax computations, and supporting schedules.
  • Conduct research on local and international tax legislation, circulars, double tax treaties, and emerging tax developments.
  • Provide technical input on tax advisory projects, including restructurings, tax due diligence, tax risk assessments, and cross-border tax matters.
  • Assist with tax audit support, including drafting responses, preparing analyses, and liaising with relevant authorities under the guidance of the Team Leader/Head of Tax.
  • Interpret tax regulations and guidelines to ensure accurate and compliant application for client engagements.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery of assigned tax engagements, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Review and mentor the work of Tax Consultants, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Coordinate with the Team Leader/Head of Tax regarding resource allocation, technical issues, and project progress.
  • Maintain proper documentation, working papers, and engagement files in line with internal standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of client presentations, proposals, and tax updates.
  • Support senior team members in maintaining strong and proactive client relationships.
  • Identify potential opportunities for additional tax services and escalate them appropriately.
  • Assist in delivering internal and external tax training sessions where required.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA/ICAEW, CPA, ADIT (full or partial) are highly advantageous.
  • 3+ years of professional tax experience, ideally within a professional services environment, or corporate tax department.
  • Strong exposure to Cypriot tax legislation, compliance requirements and interpretation of tax provisions.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, computations, and advisory deliverables.
  • Familiarity with international tax matters, double tax treaties and OECD developments is an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Cypriot direct tax legislation and the ability to apply it accurately in client engagements.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of interpreting legislation, analyzing data, and identifying practical solutions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing tax deliverables, reports, and client communications.
  • Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented, contributing positively to team performance and supporting junior staff.
  • Client-focused, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, commercially relevant work.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to handle emerging regulatory changes and evolving client needs.
