CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a CySEC regulated Investment Firm with offices across Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Legal Advisor to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will primarily be responsible for providing day-to-day legal support to the Company, including drafting, and reviewing various types of commercial and corporate documents and agreements, as well as providing strategic legal advice to senior management and key stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, who possess approximately 4+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial law, gained working at a Law Firm and/or as an in-house legal advisor. Experience in data protection compliance in the banking or financial services sector, as well as experience in a regulated firm or the FX/CFDs industry will be considered an advantage. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day legal support across the company, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and corporate agreements (e.g. Payment Solution agreements, Technology services agreements and IOs, License Agreements, Marketing Service Agreements etc.)
  • Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and key stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues. 
  • Perform research on legal cases as and when requested and provide feedback to Head of Legal.
  • Cooperate with independent external law offices ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
  • Generate reports, coordinate responses, and compile information/documentation requested by various departments and external professionals (i.e. auditors, banks, external counsels, etc.)
  • Ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support legal team where required and contribute to overall legal team development.
  • Undertake any other related tasks assigned by management.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Master of Laws or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered an advantage.
  • Admission to the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • At least 4 years of post-qualification experience as a commercial lawyer at a law firm and/or as an in-house legal advisor.
  • Experience in data protection compliance in the banking or financial services sector will be considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience with regulated Firm and/or FX/CFDs industry will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English and good drafting ability.
  • Knowledge of personal data protection legal and regulatory framework.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Resourceful with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Dynamic, flexible with strong attention to detail.
