Senior Back-End Developer (PHP/Symfony)
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an innovative online platform that connects care providers with healthcare organizations, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Back-End Developer (PHP/Symfony) to join their newly established operations here in Cyprus, on a fully remote basis. As a Senior Back-End Developer (PHP/Symfony), you will take ownership of our client’s PHP/Symfony backend and drive development with minimal oversight. You will work closely with product and front-end teams to design, build, and maintain the systems powering web and mobile apps. Our client is seeking applicants who possess approximately 5+ years of back-end development experience, with a proven track record of delivering production systems. Strong proficiency in PHP/Symfony and familiarity with modern PHP practices (PHP 8+) is required, and solid experience designing and maintaining systems that support mobile applications is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, along with fully remote working options within Cyprus.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the
platform’s backend using PHP/Symfony (PHP 8.4) and modern development
practices.
- Design and optimize data
models and APIs for our web and mobile apps.
- Collaborate with front-end
and product teams to define and deliver new features.
- Ensure performance,
reliability, and data integrity.
- Handle deployments and basic
DevOps tasks as needed.
- Contribute to architectural
and product decisions.
Key Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of back-end
development experience with a proven track record of delivering production
systems.
- Strong proficiency in
PHP/Symfony and familiarity with modern PHP practices (PHP 8+).
- Solid experience designing
and maintaining systems that support mobile applications.
- Ability to work
independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong database knowledge
(PostgreSQL or MySQL).
- Excellent English
communication skills.
- Experience with Node.js will
be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with
Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles is desirable.
- An interest in healthcare platforms and experience with demand-supply systems will be considered an advantage.
