CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly regarded Corporate Services Provider to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Associate Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Senior Associate Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for providing accounting services to a portfolio of mainly international clients. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field, who possess a minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience. Candidates who are working towards or have recently obtained membership of either the ACA or ACCA qualification are encouraged to apply, and excellent communication skills in English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Accountant for a portfolio of mainly international clients.
  • Responding to client requests timely and effectively.
  • Processing accounting ledger transactions.
  • Performing reconciliations of control accounts, including all bank, debtor and creditor accounts.
  • Preparing working papers and calculations.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Preparation of financial statements.
  • Assisting with external audits.
  • Prepare all necessary reports and analysis within agreed deadlines.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and VIES forms.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Partly qualified or recently qualified ACA/ACCA. 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an Accountancy position.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Good knowledge of E-Soft Accounting will be considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of VAT and tax is essential.
  • Fluent in both oral and written English.
  • Excellent team player who will take ownership.
  • Professional and reliable.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
