CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding Group of Companies operating in the Real Estate sector across Cyprus and abroad, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Senior Accountant, you will work as part of an established Finance Team. Your duties will include keeping accurate and up-to-date accounting records including general ledger entries and monthly closings, preparing financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, and more! Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field, and holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including proven experience in payroll processing and related statutory submissions. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including general ledger entries and monthly closings.
  • Prepare financial statements such as profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and review balances with customers, suppliers, and group companies.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts and monitor actual results against them.
  • Handle payroll processing, including monthly salary calculations, social insurance and tax submissions, and employee records.
  • Prepare VAT and tax returns and ensure compliance with all local regulations.
  • Support the annual audit process and make sure all financial documents are properly organized.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., property management, operations) to collect and confirm financial data.
  • Assist other group finance teams when needed, especially during reporting periods.
  • Suggest ways to improve financial procedures and help maintain strong internal controls.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University Degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related discipline.
  • Any professional accounting qualification will be considered as an advantage (The Company is an ACCA accredited employer).
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and related statutory submissions.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English language (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills.
