CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly regarded Corporate Services Provider to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing Client Services Accounting Team based in Nicosia. As a Senior Accountant, you will primarily be responsible for providing accounting services to a portfolio of mainly international clients. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field, who possess a minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience. Candidates who are working towards, or have recently obtained membership of either the ACA or ACCA qualification are welcome to apply, and excellent communication skills in Greek & English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the accounting of a portfolio of international clients.
  • Preparing accounting records under IFRS, management reports and financial statements within the agreed deadlines as requested by the client whilst being diligent and alert.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT and VIES returns within deadlines.
  • Liaising with the auditors for the timely completion of the audits.
  • Supporting the client administration and execution of payments, within deadlines as requested by the client.  
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and intermediaries.
  • Working closely with the accounting, banking and corporate teams, supporting each other to meet client needs.
  • Ensuring successful implementation of changes which improve operational practices, as agreed with the Client Service Directors.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures and agreed operational and control processes.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Partly qualified or recently qualified ACA/ACCA candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience is a must.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong financial reporting skills.
  • Fluent in both oral and written Greek and English.
  • Well organized and able to prioritize and comply with deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent team player who will take ownership.
  • Good attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
