Risk Officer (Copper Department)
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established commodity trading business with operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Risk Officer to join their growing Copper Commodity Trading department based in Limassol. As a Risk Officer, you will primarily be responsible for managing the risks associated with the physical trading book. As part of your role, you will be expected to develop solid knowledge of the London Metal Exchange market and be able to spot trading opportunities, recommend these to the Management and execute them accordingly. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Mathematics, Business, Finance, or similar field, with previous market risk management experience at an Investment Bank or Trading house considered a significant advantage. With a focus on the Asian markets, the working hours for this position are from around 03:00/04:00 to 08:00 from home each day, and then from 12:00 – 14:00 onsite in Limassol each day, for a total of approximately 38 hours per working week. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct
responsibility for all hedging and pricing.
- Develop
solid knowledge of the London Metal Exchange market.
- Identify
copper trading opportunities.
- Execute
copper trades with Management approval.
- Daily
reporting of any key events to manage the risk positions.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Degree
in Mathematics, Business, Finance, or similar field will be considered an
advantage.
- Prior
market risk management experience at an Investment Bank or Trading house
will be an advantage.
- Knowledge
of commodity markets is highly desirable.
- Excellent
command of English language.
- Strong
common sense, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Strong
interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a
team.
- Strong
numerical and analytical skills.
- Reliable,
disciplined, mature, and trustworthy.
- Able to
prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- High
commitment and a results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge
of Bloomberg terminal will be considered an advantage.
