CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Investment Firm with expanding operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Risk Manager to join their growing team based in Limassol. The Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the Company. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to ensure the Company's financial and operational stability whilst ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Our client is seeking applicants who possess proven experience in risk management within the financial services sector, ideally with specific experience gained working for a regulated Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF). You will need to be a holder of the CySEC Advanced Certification and be fluent in both verbal and written English.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Work cross-functionally with teams in other jurisdictions to create a cohesive global risk management framework that align with the Company’s objectives, sharing best practices and ensuring consistency in risk assessment and mitigation efforts across the business.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and present findings to Senior Management and the Board of Directors to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments by evaluating various factors, including market risks, credit risks, liquidity risks, operational risks, and regulatory risks.
  • Continuously monitor the Company's risk profile and financial exposures, using advanced analytics and reporting tools to detect potential issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, including the establishment of risk limits and the development of risk mitigation plans.
  • Examination of the ongoing capital adequacy compliance and the financial results of the CIF.
  • Stay current with regulations and collaborate with the compliance department to address regulatory requirements.
  • Perform stress tests and scenario analysis to evaluate the Company's resilience to adverse events and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the assessment and management of risks associated with third-party vendors, ensuring that vendor relationships align with the Company's risk appetite.
  • Develop and maintain an effective incident response plan to address operational risk incidents promptly, minimize their impact, and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate closely with other key functions, including Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology, and Operations, to ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Participation in the risk management committee.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University Degree in Risk Management, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) will be considered a plus.
  • Holder of the CySEC Advanced Certification.
  • Proven experience in risk management within the financial services industry, preferably in CIFs.
  • Advanced understanding of CFD products, financial markets, and trading strategies.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills, with proficiency in risk assessment and modelling.
  • Have a proactive approach to risk management and experienced with BASEL III framework and ICAAP/ICARA.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
