CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a boutique Reg-Tech firm offering cloud-based technology solutions, we are seeking to recruit a Python Developer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Python Developer, you will work closely with Senior Developers to help develop application software in Python. As part of your role, you will develop back-end components, connect the application with third-party web services, and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the Python application. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess approximately 2+ years of experience with Python development. You will need to have hands-on experience with Django, Flask, and/or other Python frameworks, and ideally familiarity with front-end technologies. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and deploy data strategies and system enhancements for various types of business information including infrastructure, data stores, and business intelligence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for code management and review.
  • Perform a lead role with regard to data infrastructure management and database procedures.
  • Provide executive information management reporting.
  • Creates and runs complex ad hoc data queries to enable portfolio analysis, establish control groups, and determine business trends.
  • Guide design, engineering & product teams towards new technology features.
  • Undertake research and learn new methodologies and technologies before bringing this knowledge to the team.
  • Work as a member of the team at every stage of the software development life cycle.
  • Design solutions write and test code, automating test and deployment.
  • Provide input, and influence discussions around best practices and new technologies, helping us to develop an effective basis for future development.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience in Python development.  
  • Hands-on experience in writing shell scripts on the Unix platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Django, Flask, or other Python frameworks.
  • Good understanding of server-side templating languages such as Jinja 2, Mako, etc...
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (like JavaScript, HTML5, Reach.JS, CSS3).
  • Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM) libraries.
  • Understanding of REST/JSON and/or SOAP/XML web services, experience in interface design.
  • Good knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL).
  • Comprehensive understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and systems.
  • Experience building and operating software in an AWS cloud.
  • Excellent knowledge of English is a must.
  • Proficient understanding of software development tools such as GIT source control.
  • Strong experience with Data Analysis, Data Profiling, Data Cleansing, Data Reconciliation and Data Integrity using SQL, Shell scripts, and other approved tools.
