CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services, we are seeking to recruit a Port Operations Officer to join their growing teams based in Limassol. As a Port Operations Officer, you will oversee all operations and formalities during a vessel’s call at port, or at off port limits in accordance with port and customs regulations. Our client is seeking applicants who hold approximately 2+ years of experience in shipping/port operations, who possess a sound understanding of port operations and regulations. You will need to be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English, and possess excellent administration and coordination skills. A highly attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a 13th and 14th salary, provident fund, Friday afternoon’s off, and flexible working hours

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide updated information to principals and masters before, during vessel’s calls and after sailing.
  • Arrange berthing/unberthing of vessels without delay and availability of equipment and personnel as may be needed.
  • Visit quayside, board the vessel, and attend to master’s requirements.
  • Make all efforts to assist with vessel activities, movements, and cargo operations in order to meet vessel schedules and deliverables.
  • Assist with crew changes and port immigration formalities.
  • Promptly prepare all documentation and update the authorities’ operating system with necessary information/documentation.
  • Be available to work AOH/Weekends/Holidays as required.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is desirable.
  • Approximately 2+ years of experience in shipping/port operations.
  • Good understanding of port operations and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, and general computer literacy.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent administration and coordination skills.
