CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding International Group of Companies that offers clients a wide range of Logistical & Distribution services, including Ocean & Air Freight, Road Transportation & Warehousing, we are seeking to recruit an Operations Supervisor to join their growing team based in either Limassol or Nicosia. Working alongside the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will play a key role in the smooth running of the Group, helping to plan and execute departmental budgets, recruiting and retaining a high performing workforce, as well as identifying areas to improve operational efficiencies and manage costs. You will ideally be educated to degree level in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field and will need to possess approximately 5+ years of proven experience in the NVOCC or Shipping field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that all department policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Continuously focus on the corporate goals, results of 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor Progress versus Plan.
  • Conduct bi-weekly and monthly meetings with the General Manager.
  • Follow up with the operations and sales team to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain good business relations by ensuring having relations with key accounts.
  • Provide direct support to the team in urgent problems that might occur.
  • Monitor Key accounts.
  • Handle operation claims in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Ensure timely closing of jobs and reporting to the accounting department.
  • Build a good relationship with Carriers (air and sea) in coordination with the Department Managers.
  • Monitor rules, regulations, and procedures.     

 Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with emphasis on Transportation and Logistics.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in the Freight Forwarding field.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding concepts.
  • Knowledge of all port authority procedures and regulations.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Customer centric attitude.
  • High level of communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing work demands.
  • Team building orientated, with strong leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Approachable with excellent people skills.
  • Polite, discreet, thoughtful.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
