CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Group of Companies, offering a range of transport, shipping, and logistics services, we are seeking to recruit an Operations Manager to join their growing team based in Limassol. As an Operations Manager, you will oversee daily operations, focusing on commercial management, control, audit, and market growth. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, and holders of an MBA are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess extensive experience in the Freight Forwarding and/or or LCL (Less Container Load) fields, including demonstrable exposure to supervisory positions. The ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion, and to maintain confidentiality is essential, along with the willingness and ability to travel as required to meet with clients and partners. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that all department policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Manage and develop team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase market share.
  • Implement sales and marketing objectives to drive business growth.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with claims and provide effective resolutions.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenditures to ensure budget conformity.
  • Support timely collection of overdue balances and supervise jobs closing
  • Supervise vessel operations with terminals and ship planners.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations through accurate documentation and pre-arrival submissions.
  • Produce operational reports, including terminal and vessel operations reports.
  • Negotiate favorable terms with clients, carriers, and agents.
  • Contribute to acquiring new business deals and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and conduct regular audits.
  • Implement strategies to maintain operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Oversee vessel operations, including berthing and crew changes.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in Business Administration, Management, Transportation & Logistics, or similar is desirable.
  • Holders of an MBA are encouraged to apply.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Freight Forwarding and/or or LCL (Less Container Load) fields.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory position.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients when required.
  • Fluency in Greek and English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, to enable professional interaction with a wide range of contacts, both internal and external to the Group.
  • Ability to organize and plan own work.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to priorities and re-prioritize.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate a professional manner at all times and possess the ability to remain calm under pressure.
