CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus’ most well-established and well-known companies operating in the FMCG sector, we are seeking to recruit a Market Development Leader to join their growing team. As a Market Development Leader, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and leveraging new market opportunities with the aim of increasing market share and strengthening the company’s strategic position, specifically in the Paphos and Limassol regions. Our client is seeking applicants who possess a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a relevant sales-orientated position, ideally gained working in the FMCG sector. Strong knowledge of the Paphos and Limassol regions is highly desirable, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English are a must. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, along with a company car. Applicants should be based in either Limassol or Paphos for this position.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Conducts in-depth market research to understand competitive conditions, market dynamics, and factors influencing demand.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and dynamic markets by analyzing trends, industry developments, and consumer needs.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and approaches new targeted customers with the aim of securing agreements.
  • Implements and executes strategic business development plans to achieve company goals and revenue targets.
  • Ensures a high level of customer service by resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Assesses customer needs and competitor actions, ensuring that the company’s strategies provide a competitive advantage.
  • Provides feedback to the Sales Department and other company departments regarding competition, market trends, and potential issues.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with existing and potential customers, promoting new partnerships and development opportunities.
  • Leads and motivates the sales team.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and prepares routes based on parameters set by the Department Manager.
  • Provides training, guidance, and performance management to ensure the team meets sales targets.
  • Cultivates a healthy collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar sales-related position.
  • Excellent understanding of the dynamics of the Cypriot FMCG market, especially in the Limassol/Paphos districts.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Analytical skills for effectively resolving operational and customer issues.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and business software (e.g., CRM).
  • Excellent command of Greek and English.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality control systems is considered an advantage.
