CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established provider of Audit, Tax and Advisory Services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Legal & Compliance Officer to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Legal & Compliance Officer, you will be responsible handling legal matters on behalf of the Firm and its clients, including drafting agreements, legal opinions and legal documents, as well as ensuring compliance with AML legislation and carrying out due diligence on clients. You will need to be educated to degree level in Law, and be a qualified lawyer here in Cyprus, with proven experience in a relevant role with exposure to both legal and compliance-related matters. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. Working hours are from 08:00 – 16:30 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:00 to 15:00 each Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Handle legal matters for the firm’s clientele.
  • Drafting agreements, legal opinions and legal documents for the firm’s clientele.
  • Ensure compliance with AML legislation and carry out due diligence on clients.
  • Communicating with clients and updating client files, risk classification and escalating cases to Management.
  • Reviewing and updating the Company's AML Manual and other related policies.
  • Maintenance of the AML system and the preparation and submission of all relevant regulatory reports.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Educated to degree level in Law.
  • Qualified Lawyer.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in a relevant legal and compliance-related role.
  • Experience drafting agreements, legal opinions and legal documents.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
  • Fluency in both Greek and English, verbal and written.
  • High sense of integrity and professional ethics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
