As a Junior Risk Officer, you will support the execution of daily hedging operations, including position monitoring, and related reporting. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Mathematics, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, with any prior experience in market risk management, commodities, investment banking, or a trading house considered an advantage. You will need to be fluent in verbal and written English, with strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Support the execution of daily hedging operations.
  • Assist with daily hedging activities, position monitoring, and related reporting.
  • Maintain and update daily risk reports.
  • Monitor and reconcile hedged positions against internal records.
  • Analyse market volatility, forward curve movements, spreads, and correlations.
  • Monitor macroeconomic events, market volatility, and supply disruptions, and issue early-warning alerts when required.
  • Support internal audits and ensure compliance with internal risk policies, procedures, and limits.
  • Assist the team with ad hoc market analysis, reporting, and operational tasks as required.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field will be considered an advantage.
  • Prior experience in market risk management, commodities, investment banking, or a trading house will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong common sense, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn.
  • Reliable, disciplined, mature, and trustworthy.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of commitment and a results-driven mindset.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal will be considered an advantage.
