CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established and expanding provider of metal construction solutions, from design to implementation and maintenance, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in the Latsia area of Nicosia. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor you will support the cost management and financial control of construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing estimates, managing budgets, handling contracts, and liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, or another closely related field, with any previous experience considered a significant advantage, although full training will be provided, and Recent Graduates are therefore encouraged to apply. You will need to be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English, with knowledge of software including AutoCAD and MS Excel considered highly desirable. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a competitive base salary, 13th salary, hybrid working options, company car, and working hours from 08:00 – 16:30 from Monday to Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Measures quantities and prepares Bills of Quantities.
  • Prepares estimates on preliminary drawings.
  • Prepares budgets/cost plans of the projects.
  • Assesses project cost performance against the Cost Plan and investigates major discrepancies.
  • Summarizes design features and construction practices that tend to increase costs and prepares reports to the QS Manager.
  • Prepares contract documentation for contracts with contractors/subcontractors.
  • Issues certificates for payments.
  • Issues final accounts.
  • Prepares costing of customer requested extras.
  • Estimates variations and maintains internal variations schedules.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University degree in Quantity Surveying, or another relevant field.
  • Experience will be considered a plus, but not essential.
  • Member of ETEK.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency with cost estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Fluency in both Greek and English languages both written and oral.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
