Junior ICT Engineer
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a trusted technology partner to over 500 clients in both Cyprus and abroad, we are seeking to recruit a Junior ICT Engineer to join their growing team based in the heart of Nicosia. As a Junior ICT Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, assisting with the maintenance of IT systems, and learning to manage various IT infrastructure tasks. Working closely with Senior Engineers you will assist with system installations, troubleshooting, and IT service management, ensuring the smooth operation of both internal and client IT systems. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related fields, who ideally possess approximately 1+ year of previous experience in an IT support role. Basic understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles is essential, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to project goals is a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical
support for internal staff and external clients, assisting with basic
hardware, software, and network issues.
- Respond to support tickets,
diagnose problems, and assist in troubleshooting IT issues, escalating
more complex issues to senior engineers as needed.
- Assist with the installation,
configuration, and setup of IT systems.
- Help monitor and maintain
network infrastructure.
- Participate in training
sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance technical
skills and knowledge.
- Continuously expand knowledge
of IT systems, best practices, and industry standards under the mentorship
of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with senior
engineers and other team members to deliver high-quality IT services.
- Participate in team meetings
and contribute to the completion of IT-related projects and tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation
of all support, maintenance carried out.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT,
Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related
field.
- 1+ year of previous experience
in an IT support role is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of
hardware, software, and networking principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and
troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills
with the ability to assist technical users.
- Ability
to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to project
goals.
- Willingness to learn and
develop technical expertise under the guidance of senior engineers.
- A proactive approach to
managing tasks and support requests.
