CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Group involved in the manufacture and distribution of glass products, and with regional offices here in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Group Procurement Assistant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Junior Group Procurement Assistant, you will be involved in group purchasing activities, in compliance with corporate procurement policies, as well as supporting the department with various administrative tasks. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with any existing knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing practices considered a significant advantage. Knowledge and/or experience in ERP systems operation will be considered a plus, and fluency in both verbal and written English is a must.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the procurement needs of the Group placed by the Department via corporate ERP.
  • Work with other Departments to forecast demand and evaluate inventory levels.
  • Ensure that the purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business goals and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Support and execute the corporate policy for Materials Management within corporate ERP and coordinate with Group IT.
  • Specification and maintenance of the supplier base and group of vendors.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or other related Engineering fields is desirable.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures and purchasing standards will be considered a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in ERP systems operation will be considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel if required for work purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
