CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a regulated financial services platform that empowers users to invest in both traditional and digital assets seamlessly through a mobile-first experience, we are seeking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their growing team based in Paphos, on a Part-Time basis. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will handle a range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Your duties will include invoicing, bank and cash reconciliations, the preparation and submission of VAT forms, and more! An academic background in relevant field will be considered an advantage, and holders of any relevant accounting certifications including the LCCI Higher and/or CAT are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess proven experience in a relevant position, and be a confident user of MS Office applications. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, based on skills and experience. Working hours are from 09:00 – 13:00 from Monday to Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping.
  • Assist on the invoicing procedure and ensure that the monthly invoices are being issued according to the agreed terms.
  • Record the sales & purchase invoices, dealing with suppliers & customers.
  • Bank & petty cash reconciliation.
  • Manage creditors’ and debtors’ balances, invoices, receipts, and payments into the accounting software.
  • Record transactions in the accounting software on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and submit VAT forms.
  • Maintain files, including filing of general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation, and other miscellaneous filing.
  • Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain and convey information or to correct transactions.
  • Undertake any other specific duties as required by the Financial Manager.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Holders of any relevant accounting certifications (LCCI Higher, CAT etc…) are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Trustworthiness.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
