CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding Group of Companies operating in the Shipping Industry, we are seeking to recruit an Internal Legal Advisor to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the Group’s Legal Counsel, you will handle a wide range of legal matters, including providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on corporate and commercial matters, drafting various legal and corporate documents, and handling KYC and AML procedures. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, who are members of the Cyprus Bar Association. You will need to possess 3+ years of previous experience in a relevant position, either gained working in an in-house capacity, or for a Law Firm in their corporate department. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders on corporate and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Drafting various legal and corporate documents (e.g., resolutions, minutes, agreements, power of attorneys, letters, etc.).
  • Handling KYC and AML compliance procedures.
  • Handling matters with the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver, including preparation of relevant forms and necessary applications.
  • Managing and organizing legal documentation.
  • Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and advising on their impact.
  • Supporting internal group projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Cooperating effectively with other departments both in Cyprus and abroad.
  • Collaborating with the Group’s external legal advisors, where required.
  • Liaising with external associates, such as banks, insurance companies, local authorities, and auditors.
  • Undertaking any other relevant tasks as assigned by Management.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
  • Membership in the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • 3-5 years expected experience in an in-house role and/or in a law firm in the corporate department.
  • Experience in the shipping industry will be considered an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Greek, both verbal and in writing.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong writing and document drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
