IT Support Engineer
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a well-established Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) company based in Cyprus, providing world-class premium carrier-neutral data centre services, we are seeking to recruit an IT Support Engineer to join their growing team based in Larnaca. As an IT Support Engineer you will provide first-level on-site and remote technical support, ensuring the reliable operation of IT systems and infrastructure. The role includes troubleshooting, system maintenance, and participation in installations and upgrades to support daily business operations. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess at least 1+ year of experience in a relevant position. You will need to possess experience working with Microsoft on-premises and cloud technologies such as Hyper-V, Windows Server 2012 or newer, as well as VMWare virtualization technologies including ESXi, vCenter and ideally, VDI. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level
on-site/local and remote support to end users, including desktop and
laptop computers and peripheral devices.
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and
support customer and internal systems, applications, and IT
infrastructure.
- Analyze system logs and utilize
the company’s monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify,
troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Contribute to technical
lifecycle initiatives, including operating system updates and patching,
equipment software/firmware upgrades, and hardware replacement or upgrade
projects.
- Deploy and install a wide range
of IT systems and infrastructure components.
- Perform any other duties
relevant to the role as assigned by company management.
Key Skills/Experience:
- University/college degree in
Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant subject.
- At least 1 year working
experience in a similar position.
- Hands-on experience with
Microsoft on-premises and cloud technologies, including Hyper-V, Windows
Server 2012 or later (Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, WSUS),
Microsoft 365, etc.
- Experience with VMware
virtualization technologies, including ESXi and vCenter, ideally VDI, as
well as Veeam backup, availability, and monitoring solutions.
- Strong knowledge and proven
experience in troubleshooting networking protocols and technologies such
as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and VLANs. Networking knowledge should be
at least at CCNA level.
- Experience or knowledge of
Cisco Unified Communications solutions and VoIP technologies will be
considered an asset.
- Experience with SAN storage
technologies and/or security products and solutions will be considered an
asset.
- Active certifications in any of the relevant technology areas will be considered an asset.
