CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established and highly respected Banking Institution with headquarters in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit an HR Officer to join their growing team on an initial fixed-term contract of 12 months. Working closely with the Head of Human Resources, you will provide general support to a busy HR Department. As part of your role, you will be actively involved in recruitment and selection, administer payroll, maintain employee files, and more. You should be educated to degree level in Human Resource Management or another relevant field, and possess approximately 2+ years of previous experience in a similar position. Sound knowledge of Cyprus and EU employment legislation is required for this role, and fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience. Although an initial 12 month fixed-term contract, there is the possibility of a longer-term collaboration.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Actively involved in the recruitment/selection process from sourcing candidates, screening CVs, carrying out interviews, making offers and assisting successful candidates with onboarding.
  • Administers the payroll function in collaboration with the Finance Department.
  • Provides support to employees by responding to queries and resolving issues in HR related matters including leaves, payroll, employment conditions.
  • Carries out personnel administration actions such as changes of employee status, extensions of employment, employee transfers.
  • Maintains employee files, updates them as necessary, and keeps them safely secured in line with GDPR and Data Protection policies.
  • Administers the training and development function and undertakes all tasks pertaining to necessary logistics including course registrations, processing of payments, HRDA procedures, updating of staff training records.
  • Inputs and updates data in the Bank’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and prepares reports as required.
  • Fills out annual survey requested by the Cyprus Bank Association and Ministry of Finance.
  • Administers and manages staff annual leave requests and records.
  • Organises staff events and activities with the aim of improving team building and employee engagement.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Educated to degree level in Human Resource Management, or another closely related field.
  • Approximately 2+ years of previous experience in a relevant HR Generalist role.
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the Cyprus and EU employment legislation.
  • Proficient with MS Office and HR software.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
