CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Group with operations in more than 20 jurisdictions throughout the world, we are seeking to recruit a Group Legal Counsel to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Group Legal Counsel, you will primarily be responsible for drafting and reviewing agreements, and offering strategic legal advice on business matters. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, who are fully qualified lawyers. You will need to possess approximately 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience gained at a respected law firm and/or as in-house counsel. Substantial experience in drafting and reviewing contracts and policies is essential, along with extensive experience in researching and advising on international laws and regulations. Fluency in verbal and written English is a must. Our client offers an attractive remuneration and benefits package based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Providing strategic legal guidance aligned with of Group’s business objectives.
  • Anticipating legal issues and providing clear and actionable legal advice to Management.
  • Developing and evaluating appropriate solutions to accomplish Management's goal's while minimizing risk, with priority given to situations of greatest risk, significance, and time sensitivity.
  • Assisting the business in obtaining and coordinating legal and tax advice necessary for setting up new offices, ensuring compliance with local regulations and business requirements.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and maintaining agreements, policies and procedures and other legal documents.
  • Educating and training the Group’s community on legal and compliance matters.
  • Handling agreements and disputes effectively.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Law from an accredited University.
  • Postgraduate degree in Law will be considered an advantage.
  • 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience gained at a respected law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
  • Substantial experience in drafting and reviewing contracts and policies.
  • Extensive experience in researching and advising on international laws and regulations.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and able to work independently, taking full accountability for assigned work and delivering results under minimal supervision, as well as working effectively across different teams and departments.
  • Exceptional English language skills, with full fluency in reading, writing, speaking and professional communication.
