CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading owner, operator and developer of Real Estate Assets across Europe, we are seeking to recruit a Group Financial Controller to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the Group CFO, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team of 3 financial accountants, and providing technical leadership, direction and support to country finance teams across the Group. As a Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the Group's planning, reporting, and control functions, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information to the Board, Management, and external stakeholders. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields, who possess approximately 10+ years of experience in similar roles, ideally gained working within international environments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. A highly attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Managing the consolidation of the Group.
  • Managing the Group’s interim and annual reports processes.
  • Compilation of annual report and quarterly reports.
  • Liaising and communicating with external and internal auditors and management of the audit processes.
  • Managing the reporting to the controlling shareholder.
  • Managing the board pack delivery.
  • Being responsible for ownership and execution of the relevant I-Sox controls.
  • Having business ownership of relevant finance systems.
  • Lead and manage a team of 3 financial accountants.
  • Preparing the accounting policy of the Group.
  • Maintaining the Group’s accounting manual.
  • Providing guidance, supervision, co-operation and support for local operations teams.
  • Technical accounting principal support.
  • Preparation of analytical and predictive analyses of the financial results, including rationalizing differences between reported profits, cash flow from operations and EPRA earnings.
  • Review of statutory financial statements of the Group companies.
  • Managing budgeting process of the Group, budget consolidation, monthly or quarterly comparison of budget and actual results, reforecasts, etc...
  • Providing transaction support in the form of deal structuring, due diligence and post transaction pro-forma results analysis.
  • Monitor the covenants and reports related bonds, secured financing and rating agencies.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another closely related field.
  • Full member of a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CPA).
  • Approximately 10+ years of experience gained working in similar roles.
  • Previous experience gained working for Top 4 Accounting & Audit Firms is highly desirable.
  • Person with gravitas, natural charisma and seniority.
