CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international Real Estate Investment Firm with regional offices in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their growing team based in Larnaca. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating with the team of accountants in recording the Group’s transactions, as well as liaising with the other offices abroad, auditors and external advisors. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or other closely related fields, who posses approximately 2-3 years of previous experience in financial control across a group of companies or another similar position. You will need to be a full member of a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA) and have knowledge of Tax/VAT practices and principles, as well as auditing practices and principles. Excellent communication skills in Greek and English are essential. A highly attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, based on qualifications and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinating with the team of accountants in recording the group’s transactions.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of the appropriate transaction documents.
  • Reviewing quarterly reports and reporting to Management.
  • Organizing and monitoring the audit process.
  • Liaising with the other offices abroad, auditors and external advisors.
  • Working under strict deadlines.
  • Ensuring consistency of reports and timely quarterly closing accounting procedures.
  • Ensuring constant interface with management team.
  • Any other related Accounting/Financial tasks to support and assist Management.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACCA/ACA Qualified.
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in financial control across a group of companies or a similar position.
  • Very good knowledge of the Greek and English languages.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.  
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of Tax/VAT practices and principles.
  • Understands and appreciates time sensitive engagements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and high level of responsibility.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or within a team.
