CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a regulated Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) with expanding operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Finance Officer to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As a Finance Officer, you will work directly with the Assistant Vice President, and other senior team members across various departments to provide key support to the Alternative Investment Fund Manager’s (AIFMs) finance and delegation oversight functions. As part of your role, you will assist with the management of the accounts payable process, reconcile monthly reporting, monitor and ensure compliance with tax filing obligations, and assist with the production of annual financial statements. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who ideally possess some prior experience with bookkeeping and basic accounting. Any knowledge of Corporate Finance will be considered a plus, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, and our client is open to applicants seeking either Part-Time, or Full-Time employment, as well as either onsite or hybrid working conditions.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the management of the accounts payable process.
  • Help to reconcile monthly reporting and present for approval.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with tax filing obligations.
  • Perform periodic reconciliations of the financial records.
  • Assist with the production of annual financial statements.
  • Periodic reporting to the Management Committee and the Board in relation to own finance.
  • Assist with the completion of periodic on-site visits with delegates and prepare suitable reports to the Management Committee as required.
  • Ongoing maintenance of marketing and distribution records and logs.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with bookkeeping and basic accounting would be highly beneficial.
  • Holders of the LCCI Higher, or any other similar accounting certification are welcome to apply.
  • An understanding of corporate finance will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience of working under fast-paced and high-pressure conditions in a thoughtful and courteous manner.
  • Able to interact and adapt effectively and professionally to all levels of employees and work styles.
  • High standard of integrity and ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; with any knowledge of Greek considered an advantage.
