As a Customs Clearing Officer, you will primarily be responsible for preparing and processing import and export documentation for air, sea, and road freight shipments. Our client is seeking applicants who possess approximately 3+ years of experience in a similar position, who possess a proven understanding of customs procedures applicable for the import and export of goods. You will need to have strong knowledge of MS Office applications, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English. A highly attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a 13th and 14th salary, provident fund, Friday afternoon’s off, and flexible working hours. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and process import and export documentation for air, sea and road freight shipments in compliance with customs regulations and laws.
  • Classify goods according to applicable tariff coding system.
  • Calculate, quote and pay, or arrange for payment, of VAT and taxes, tariffs and duties on shipments.
  • To know, remain up to date and follow any changes in import and export laws and regulations.
  • Advise customers on best methods of packaging or labelling products.
  • Clear goods through customs to their final destination promptly and efficiently.
  • Cooperate and assist customs officials when conducting inspections to cargo shipments.
  • Handle all matters related to bonded and /or in-transit cargo.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelors’ university degree in a related field.
  • A Customs Clearance Licence is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field.
  • Sound knowledge of customs procedures applicable for the import and export of goods.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • Very good communication skills and confident in leading group conversations.
  • Keen to complete tasks in an orderly way.
  • Adherence to deadlines.
  • Complex problem solving ability and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective time management skills.
