CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a financial consultancy firm specializing in providing tailored financial turnkey solutions to e-money clients, regulated money remittance businesses, and alternative investment funds across various EU jurisdictions, we are seeking to recruit a Compliance Specialist to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Compliance Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring the Company and Group entities compliance practices are up to date with the latest regulatory developments and requirements. You will need to posses approximately 5+ years of experience in a similar role, within a similar industry, and hold proven experience of Client Onboarding, KYC, and Customer Due Diligence. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the Company and the Group entities compliance practices are up to date with the latest regulatory developments and requirements.
  • Identify and assess compliance risks, and ensure these risks are mitigated for all the Groups licensed entities in the UK, EU and US/Canada.
  • Create, maintain and ensure that the compliance policies and procedures are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide training to colleagues in various departments on regulatory compliance, setup internal training material, and ensure all staff in compliance and risk departments are kept up to date with the industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing and submitting reports to regulatory authorities in the UK, EU, US and Canada as required and ensure proper records of the submissions are properly kept.
  • In collaboration with the compliance colleagues, conduct regular internal audits throughout the Group, with focus on the licensed entities to assess whether these entities are complying with regulations and identify areas of improvement if needed.
  • Collaborate with external financial auditors and the regulators, walk them through the procedures/policies adhered by the compliance department of the licensed entities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and ensure that all the licensed institutions maintain a positive relationship with them.
  • Perform compliance testing to ensure all financial institutions of the group have proper compliance controls and operations as required.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar role and in a similar industry.
  • Experience in client on-boarding, KYC/customer due diligence.
  • Understanding of financial crime risks including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and scams.
  • ACAMS certification will be considered as strong advantage.
  • Systematic and structured approach to tasks with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness and flexibility to handle all other compliance-related tasks and responsibilities as directed by senior management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments within the Group of entities or externally with our clients and business partners.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and oral).
  • Time management skills.
