As a Compliance Officer, you will play a key role assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s compliance and AML framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess 2+ years of experience in Compliance and/or AML. You will need to hold experience with KYC/CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, and client onboarding, and be fluent in verbal and written Greek and English. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s compliance and AML framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure day-to-day compliance with Cyprus AML Law, EU Directives, and internal policies.
  • Perform KYC/CDD/EDD, client onboarding, and ongoing monitoring reviews.
  • Conduct transaction monitoring, review client activity, and identify unusual or suspicious transactions.
  • Escalate high-risk or suspicious activities and assist with internal investigations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, economic profiling, and client risk classification.
  • Perform PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening and document findings.
  • Maintain and update client records on AML systems (e.g. WiseBOS or similar).
  • Support the review and updating of AML policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance and AML reports for management.
  • Participate in AML and compliance training for staff.
  • Communicate with internal teams and clients to obtain compliance-related information.
  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and sanctions lists.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the management from time to time.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in Compliance or AML.
  • Knowledge of Cyprus AML/CFT laws, EU Directives, and sanctions.
  • Experience with KYC/CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, and client onboarding.
  • Familiarity with AML/compliance systems (e.g. WiseBOS).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Team player with ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Greek; knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
  • IT literate and adaptable.
  • High integrity, discretion, and a positive, can-do attitude.
