CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established provider of Accounting, Consulting, Tax, Audit and other professional services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Client Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Client Accountant, you will handle a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties, ensuring clients receive timely, and efficient support. As part of your role you will post and process journal entries, prepare debtor/creditor reconciliations, prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, prepare management accountants, and more! Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field, who are either working towards, or already full members of the ACA/ACCA. You will need to possess 3+ years of experience in a relevant position, with extensive knowledge of accounting principles and VAT. Knowledge of accounting software including Caseware and QuickBooks is highly desirable for this role. A highly attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a generous base salary, 13th salary, provident fund, flexible working hours, and 1 day per week remote working option.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Posting and processing journal entries to ensure that all business transactions are properly recorded.
  • Recording of invoices, receipts, payments and preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of Debtors/Creditors reconciliations.
  • Preparation of fixed asset register.
  • Ensuring that provisions were properly recognised.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT returns.
  • Preparing management accounts and cashflow statements.
  • Regularly communicating with the client to resolve any issues identified during the accounting work.
  • Supporting and supervising Juniors and Assistants.
  • Regularly reporting to the Seniors/Manager about status, progress and completion of accounting work.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field is desirable.
  • Part or Fully ACCA/ACA qualified.
  • Approximately 3+ years of practical relevant experience, preferably gained working for a medium or large sized Accounting Firm.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and VAT.
  • Computer Literacy, including preferably knowledge of Caseware and QuickBooks.
  • Ambition to have a career as an Accountant and expand his/her knowledge and experience.
  • Pleasant personality, professionalism, ability to work in a team and, when necessary, work under strict reporting deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organised.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
