CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established provider of Audit, Accounting and Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Client Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for providing a diverse portfolio of clients with a range of accounting and bookkeeping services. An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other field is desirable, and you should possess 2+ years of proven experience in a relevant role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek & English are essential. Our client offers an attractive remuneration package based on skills and experience. Working hours are from 09:00 to 13:00 & 13:30 to 16:30 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:00 to 14:00 each Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain the bookkeeping of clients, both local and international.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile and maintain all balance sheet accounts (e.g. bank, debtors, creditors reconciliations).
  • Complete the posting process and provide the audit department with Trial Balances.
  • Provide excellent client service and maintain professional relationships.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field.
  • Holders of the LCCI Higher qualification are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience in an accounting firm of at least 2+ years is a must.
  • Knowledge and experience with VAT & VIES (preparation & submission of VAT forms), and handling of Payroll (salaries, social Insurance, payslips), will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience working with Eurosoft accounting software will be considered as an advantage, but not essential.
  • Excellent Greek & English language skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
