CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading technology company with headquarters in Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join their growing team. Reporting directly to the CEO, and serving on the Executive Committee, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the organisation’s HR strategy, ensuring coverage of local and international employees and alignment. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Human Resource Management or another relevant field, who possess strong knowledge of Cyprus employment law, GDPR, and HR compliance. You will need to have extensive HR/People leadership experience in Cyprus or EU jurisdictions, with the proven ability to develop and execute strategy, with strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute the organisation’s HR strategy, ensuring coverage of local and international employees and alignment with business and group objectives and Cyprus employment regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide the People Team, to strengthen capabilities and service delivery.
  • Build and implement People programs, including talent development, employee lifecycle management, and retention initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent across the organisation.
  • Oversee training and development initiatives, ensuring employees have access to learning opportunities that support individual and organisational growth.
  • Coach, mentor, and support management and leadership teams on HR policies, people management and performance.
  • Promote an inclusive, diverse, and engaging organisational culture, enhancing employee engagement and well-being.
  • Design, and oversee compensation benefits and total rewards strategies.
  • Use People analytics and HR data to optimise HR practices and improve organisational performance.
  • Enhance the employee experience and contribute to employer branding initiatives.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to the Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with Cyprus labour law and GDPR while mitigating organisational risk.
  • Introduce innovative HR initiatives, tools, and practices.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Educated to degree level in Human Resource Management, or another closely related field.
  • Extensive HR/People leadership experience in Cyprus or EU jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of Cyprus employment law, GDPR, and HR compliance.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across multicultural teams in dynamic environments.
  • Values-driven leadership and ability to foster a sense of belonging and purpose.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategy, with strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
