CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an International Group of Companies with registered offices here in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Chief Accountant to join their growing team based in Larnaca. As a Chief Accountant, you duties will include the coordination of intercompany financing activities, as well as overseeing the preparation and accuracy of individual and consolidated audited financial statements prepared under IFRS. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields, and members of any recognised accounting body are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess a minimum of 3+ years of experience in financial reporting or controlling, preferably within an international holding company. Fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is essential, as well as advanced knowledge of IFRS and MS Excel. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate intercompany financing activities.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of individual and consolidated audited financial statements prepared under IFRS.
  • Proactively monitor and review the financial situation of subsidiaries, including beverage production, oncology and urology hospitals, and real estate management.
  • Develop comprehensive financial analyses and produce both regular and ad-hoc reports.
  • Support the implementation of group-wide financial planning and reporting processes.
  • Liaise and coordinate with tax, finance, and accounting departments of group entities, primarily in Poland and Cyprus.
  • Actively participate in international projects.
  • Collaborate closely with auditors in Cyprus.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness through automation, simplification, or process optimization.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field.
  • Members of any relevant accounting body are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in financial reporting or controlling, preferably within an international holding company.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with BI tools is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of finance and controlling in an international business context.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to deliver clear and concise guidance and instructions to subsidiaries and other group functions.
  • Proficiency in Greek is required to coordinate with Cyprus authorities.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with a high level of precision and accuracy and a commitment to timely delivery.
  • Ability to combine a hands-on approach with conceptual thinking.
  • Proven ability to build trusting and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly reliable, trustworthy, and loyal personality.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Europe occasionally for work purposes.
