CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a fast-growing boutique Real Estate company which creates, transforms, and develops exceptional buildings, we are seeking to recruit a Chief Accountant to join their growing team based in Limassol. Working closely with the CEO, the successful applicant will oversee the smooth operation of the accounting function for our client, including the preparation of accurate accounting data and reports, handling Tax and VAT compliance and obligations, the preparation of the annual budget and cashflow, and more. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar, who are full members of a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CPA). You will need to hold proven experience in a relevant position, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • In charge of the accounting function.
  • Preparation of accurate accounting data and reports in a timely manner.
  • Handling of monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Review and ensure the accounts Year End Process is executed timely and correctly.
  • Preparation of financial reports and statements to Management for review.
  • Responsible for Tax and VAT compliance and obligation.
  • Preparation of maintenance of payroll and related reporting.
  • Analysis of financial discrepancies and recommendation for effective solution.
  • Responsible to co-operate with the Group’s auditors for the annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting standards.
  • Review of accounts payable and ensure collection of payments.
  • Preparation of the annual budget and cashflow.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Reports directly to the CEO.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar.
  • Full member of a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CPA).
  • Proven experience in a relevant accounting role is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • High level of accuracy, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Any previous accounting experience gained working in the Real Estate and/or Construction sectors will be considered an advantage.
