Bookkeeper (All Levels)
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Group of Companies providing clients with a range of services including Bunker Trading, Cargo Trading, Chartering, and Ship Operations, we are seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the Accounts Manager, and working as part of an established team, you will handle a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties, including invoicing, general bookkeeping, and monitoring payments. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who ideally possess prior of experience in a similar role, with any prior exposure to the Shipping sector considered an advantage, but not essential. You will need to be familiar with accounting principles and financial reporting, and have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Fluency in Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 08.00 to 17.00 or 09.00 to 18.00 from Monday to Friday.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Working
in a small team of accountants (5 people).
- Daily
tasks will include invoicing, posting in software, online payments and
general bookkeeping.
- Preparing
documents and materials for audit.
- Monitor
payments from clients and payment schedule to suppliers.
- Assist
in preparation of transaction documents and documentation for obtaining
bank financing.
- Assist
in closing the books by helping with reconciliations of general ledger
accounts and preparing reports.
- This role assumes that the candidate will grow in the team, gain further responsibility with time.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Past
experience in a shipping company is a benefit (but not required).
- Prior
experience as bookkeeper or similar, is highly desirable, although Recent
Graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong
attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong
Excel skills.
- Fluent in Greek and sufficient level of English.
