CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established designer and developer of high-end residential projects in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their growing team based in Paphos. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring transactions, and supporting reporting and compliance processes. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who possess 2+ years of experience in a relevant accounting and bookkeeping role. You should have experience working with accounting software, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English, with any prior experience working in the real estate or property development sectors considered an advantage, but not essential. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 09:00 – 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial data.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor all incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Track payments to suppliers, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Follow up with clients and debtors regarding outstanding balances.
  • Process and execute supplier/vendor payments through the company’s bank accounts.
  • Maintain payment confirmations and update supplier ledgers accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Monitor and reconcile reduced VAT applications and records.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and reconciliation.
  • Support the preparation and submission of statutory forms (including IR7).
  • Prepare financial reports and provide updates to Management.
  • Maintain and track budgets across projects.
  • Issue invoices and credit notes.
  • Reconcile balances with property purchasers, clients, and suppliers.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of proven accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience in the real estate or property development sector will be considered a strong advantage.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of Greek and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Organized, structured, and process-driven mindset.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
