CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a boutique Law Firm offering clients a wide range of legal services, we are seeking to recruit an Associate Lawyer to join their growing Litigation Department based in Nicosia. As an Associate Lawyer, you will primarily be responsible for handling litigation cases, including corporate/commercial litigation, as well as drafting and reviewing contracts, legal opinions, pleadings, written addresses and writing any other legal documents. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, who are full members of The Cyprus Bar Association. You will need to possess approximately 3+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial and corporate litigation, including experience conducting court hearings in cases before the District Courts and the Supreme Court. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Handle litigation cases, including corporate/commercial litigation.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, legal opinions, pleadings, written addresses and writing any other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate/commercial litigation matters.
  • Undertaking legal research.
  • Liaising with clients, other professional advisers, and public/regulatory authorities, as necessary.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • LLB in Law.
  • A master’s degree and/or BPTC shall be considered as an additional advantage.
  • Member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
  • At least 3+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial and corporate litigation.
  • Experience in conducting court hearings in cases before the District Courts and the Supreme Court.
  • Practical experience in drafting pleadings, legal opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and use legal tools such as CyLaw, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, and legal textbooks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with high attention to detail.
  • Fluent command of English and Greek, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and excellent computer literacy.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage multiple deadlines in a busy and demanding work environment.
  • Accurate, reliable, creative, well organised, and proactive.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven background in dealing with international and institutional clients.
