CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Audit, Accounting and Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit an Assistant Tax Manager to join their growing team based in Nicosia. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing the client base of the company’s tax operations, advising international and local clients on tax issues, and ensuring the provision of accurate tax planning activities to ensure tax compliance. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Economics, Taxation, Finance, or another related field, who possess proven work experience in the Tax field, ideally gained working for a professional services firm. Members of the ACCA/ACA are encouraged to apply, although this is not essential, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Develop the client base of the company’s tax operations.
  • Advise international and local clients on tax issues.
  • Ensure the provision of accurate tax planning activities to ensure tax compliance.
  • Train, supervise and review the work of subordinates with relation to tax activities.
  • Monitor the preparation of tax compliance documents such as tax forms, returns and capital statements and tax computations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential tax risks taking into consideration tax legislation, common practice, and double tax treaties.
  • Communicate identified risks to the clients and propose innovative tax solutions.
  • Ensure all tax compliance obligations and deadlines are adhered to and all tax returns are timely filed.
  • Liaise with local Tax authorities on client issues, build and leverage key relationships.
  • Coordinate interactions with other lines of service of the Company to effectively manage the tax provision and compliance process.
  • Follow industry trends and track tax-related updates and ensure the implementation of best practices.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University degree in Accounting, Economics, Taxation, Finance or a related field.
  • Proven work experience in Tax gained working for a professional services firm.
  • ACCA/ACA qualification is considered an additional advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Greek.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and tax software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
