CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a boutique investment firm serving institutions, businesses and high-net-worth individuals, we are seeking to recruit an Assistant Compliance Officer to join their growing team based in the heart of Nicosia. Working closely with the Compliance Officer, you will be primarily be responsible for helping to ensure the firms’ compliance with CySEC regulations, MiFID II, AML directives, and other applicable laws. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, and holders of any relevant compliance-related certifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess at least 1+ year of previous experience working in compliance within a regulated investment firm, with sound knowledge of CySEC regulations and the MiFID II framework. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 09:00 – 17:30 from Monday to Friday. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in monitoring and ensuring the firm's compliance with CySEC regulations, MiFID II, AML directives, and other applicable laws.
  • Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to CySEC and other authorities.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic review of the firm's compliance policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the day-to-day functions of the department.
  • Assist in customer due diligence (CDD) and ongoing monitoring of transactions to detect suspicious activities.
  • Keep AML/Compliance internal database, clients’ and internal Company’s records up to date.
  • Assist in the compliance monitoring of the organization’s activities.
  • Support in preparing reports on compliance findings and recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in the identification and reporting of suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO).
  • Participate in the organization of training sessions for staff on compliance and AML requirements.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Liaise with other departments to provide guidance on compliance matters.
  • Any other duty assigned from the Head of the Department in relation to the above.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CySEC Advanced Certificate, AML certifications) are considered an advantage.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a compliance role within a regulated investment firm.
  • Strong understanding of CySEC regulations and MiFID II framework.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
