As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing timely financial information to support business decision-making. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who possess at least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or another similar role. Any knowledge of bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar accounting tools, will be considered an advantage, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Greek are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate and timely data entries.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure consistency with financial records.
  • Handle invoicing and ensure timely payment collection.
  • Manage company expenses and keep accurate records of receipts and financial documents.
  • Collaborate with the finance team for audits.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Undertake any other specific duties as required by the Financial Manager.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Any knowledge of bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar accounting tools, will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluency in both English and Greek.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
