CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long established and highly regarded Family Office with diverse business interests and investments which include the Shipping industry, we are seeking to recruit an Accounts Supervisor to join their growing Shipping Operations team based in Limassol. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager, you will manage the end-to-end accounting lifecycle, from initiation through to completion for multiple entities, mainly in the Shipping field. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another closely related field, who are full members of a recognised accounting body. You will need to possess approximately 2+ years of post-qualified experience, with any specific exposure working in a Multinational Corporation, Shipping company, Investment Bank and/or Family Office considered an advantage, while applicants working for Top 4 Audit & Accounting Firms are also welcome to apply. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage end-to-end accounting lifecycle, from initiation (prepayments/accruals/budgeting) through completion (invoice approvals) for multiple entities, mainly in the Shipping field.
  • Ensure cross-departmental collaboration and resolve issues that may arise during execution of payments, compliance (acquisition/disposal of vessels).
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly Management reports (financial, cash flows, budgets, and other as required) of several entities.
  • Always maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
  • Perform financial analysis, cost benefit analysis and any other analysis when and if required.
  • Responsible for the preparation and filings of the Income Tax and VAT reporting/ compliance processes.
  • Liaise with External auditors for any explanations/support required.
  • Support the standalone financial statements preparation, by providing analyses for disclosures.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual consolidation reports.
  • Assisting in strengthening of internal controls and procedures and maintaining at the same time the efficiency of the department.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Full member of a recognised accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CPA).
  • Master’s degree in Business or Finance will be considered as an advantage.
  • Approximately 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in any of the following industries is highly desirable: Multinational Corporation, Shipping, Investment Banking institution or Family Office.
  • Experience working for a Top 4 Audit firm will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, Business Intelligence reporting tools, and Consolidation systems, will be considered a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting and IFRS Consolidations.
  • Strong familiarity and experience with Cyprus Taxation Law and filing requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
