As an Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee daily accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and timely completion of accounting records. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, and holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess extensive experience in a relevant accounting role, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and proper maintenance of accounting records in compliance with company policies and IFRS standards.
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Ensure full compliance with Cyprus tax laws, statutory regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and other statutory declarations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage and monitor company cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital requirements.
  • Oversee receivables management and collection strategies to ensure timely customer payments and minimize overdue balances.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the accounting team to ensure efficient daily operations and high performance.
  • Support senior management with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business analysis.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • An academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar.
  • Holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualification/s are encouraged to apply.
  • Extensive, and proven experience in a relevant accounting position is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Cyprus tax laws, VAT regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Prior experience working in the Logistics, Shipping, and/or Freight Forwarding industry will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluency in Greek & English.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
