CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a long-established Group of Companies, offering a range of transportation, shipping, and logistical services, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Supervisor to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee daily accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and timely completion of accounting records. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, and holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualifications are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess approximately 4+ years of experience in a relevant accounting role, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Check and analyze of incoming cost invoices on a daily basis.
  • Issuance of invoices.
  • Handle all accounting entries.
  • Prepare budget versus performance reports.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Handle credit control duties.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS principles.
  • Records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Manage and control cash accounts.
  • Verify and reconcile accounts payable and receivables.
  • Conduct monthly suppliers & agents reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare VAT and VIES report to be submitted as per the local government deadlines.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  • Assist with annual external audit examination and complete requested materials.

 

Key Skills/Experience:

 

  • An academic background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar.
  • Holders of, or those working towards any relevant accounting qualification/s are encouraged to apply.
  • Approximately 4+ years of experience in a relevant accounting position is essential.
  • Prior experience working in the Logistics, Shipping, and/or Freight Forwarding industry will be considered an advantage, but not essential.
  • Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluency in Greek & English.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
