CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Audit, Accounting & Tax related services to a diverse portfolio of both local and international clients, we are seeking to recruit an Accounting Supervisor to join their growing team based in Nicosia. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, review the work of junior staff, and collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field, who are ideally full members of the ACCA, or working towards the qualification. You will need to possess approximately 4+ years of previous experience in a similar accounting role, and be fluent in both verbal and written Greek and English. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage accounting and bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
  • Prepare VAT Returns, VIES forms, and handle client registrations for VAT, Tax, and Social Insurance.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date accounting records in line with standards and policies.
  • Assist in preparing management accounts, financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations (VAT, Social Insurance, sales, receivables, purchases, payables, etc.).
  • Compile and present financial and budget reports; monitor and analyse financial data.
  • Establish budgets and forecasts, ensuring targets are met and taking proactive actions when needed.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Review the work of junior staff as assigned, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Support, train, and mentor junior team members to enhance team capability.
  • Contribute to strong client relationships through professional and responsive communication.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ACCA qualified or actively pursuing the qualification.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT compliance, Social Insurance, and Tax reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., E-soft, Odoo); IT literate and adaptable.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a proactive attitude.
